• Training : About Me •

My Grandmother and my Mother are probably to blame for my unshakable interest in horses. Thanks to my mother I have been riding horses for longer than I have been alive and thanks to my Grandmother who had a riding stables in the New Forest when I was young I had a very ready supply of horses to fall in love with.

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to work with horses. When I was very young I wanted to be a jockey but was told at the tender age of 6 that it was clearly a bad choice, as I was already getting a bit too tall for it all. I vowed to stop growing but unsurprisingly it didn't really work.

With the age and the height also came new goals. I realised during a horse free period of my life that I didn't much care if I was riding or grooming or mucking out I just loved being with horses. And what I loved most about horses was training them. Learning about what motivated them, how they would naturally respond to certain stimuli and how their individual characters caused them to react completely differently to the same situation. Like people different characters respond to different methods.

I just can't get enough. I have looked at many different horsemen and horsewomen and pull together what I have found has worked well.
